Beautiful place and a great owner. The room had ample space and the view from the attached terrace is amazing. You get to see Mirik, Sandakpur and a glimpse of the Kanchenjunga from the homestay, also Victoria boys school, pine forest and church are just a short walk away. The homestay is easily accessible from the Kurseong market via a short shared cab ride which is very cheap. Only recommendation from my end is, it would be better if we got the basic toiletries like a soap and shampoo pouch, it would be very convenient when you reach after a long journey, other than that it's a 10/10 experience. I strongly recommend this place.

We have been to the hills many times - in fact, our ancestral home is in the hills, but now we live far away in the cities. The hills feel like our own relatives, welcoming us every time we return. So, whenever we go near the mountains, it feels as if we’re visiting our relatives again. This time, there were four of us-my friends and I — who went together to Kurseong. On the second day, while roaming around the local market, hungry and looking for a good restaurant, we called Niraj dada. He said, “Aap log bazar ke taraf aiye na, main idhar hi hu, main batata hu kidhar mil jayega accha khana” (Come to the market, I’m already here, I’ll show you a nice place to eat). Hearing such words from someone in those unknown narrow lanes felt as if only a family member could say that. In that moment, it felt like we had found another relative in the hills -Niraj dada and his lovely family. We visited during Diwali, which also coincides with Lakshmi Puja in that region. The sight of tiny flickering lights glowing from the distant hillside homes was mesmerizing -even more so during the festival. From White Sea Homestay, we could see the whole of Kurseong and even the majestic Kanchenjunga. Before visiting, we had read many reviews of this homestay. Just like you’re doing now, we noticed one guest mentioned “Niraj bhaiya” several times, and we remember thinking, “This person must be a big fan of him!” But after staying there, we completely understood why everyone talked about him so fondly. Even though we were on vacation, we mostly preferred eating at the homestay because the food was absolutely delicious - from breakfast to dinner, everything was cooked with great care. The family takes real pride in serving guests. Niraj dada would often sit with us while we ate, asking if we wanted another helping. He is also an expert in making barbeque, and we enjoyed every bite he prepared. The rooms were beautifully decorated with simple things ,cozy and comfortable. Not just the bedrooms, but even the bathroom was spotless and well-maintained. Every member of the family was warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. Niraj dada is also very responsible about his surroundings, keeping the place clean, safe for his neighbourhood too. We had such a wonderful time with Niraj dada and his family. We believe it’s their heartfelt hospitality that makes everything , the home, the food, the view, the environment, the conversations, the connection-so memorable and special. To anyone reading this review and wondering where to stay in Kurseong, we 100% recommend White Sea Homestay. It’s not just a place to stay; it’s a place to feel at home. ❤️ — Uttara Mandi Visited: October 2025

Room is very good and decorate with different kinds of plants and flowering trees. View from the terrace is mesmerizing. Cordial hospitality of the owner feels you like a home. This is the perfect place to spend quality time with your family. Service is excellent.. Japanese style dinning arrangement feels you another level of vibes.. food quality is really awesome 👍🏻.. and when owner himself setting with you during dinner with lively conversation ,, makes the food more delicious. Location is near Dowhill post office . From here Dowhill school, Dowhill charch, Dowhill eco tourism park are walking distance about 10 min. This is the perfect place for exploring Kurseong gems .
